TN: Infant rescued from 40-feet deep well

A one-day-old boy, found wrappedin a gunny bag and thrown into a 40-ft deep dry well, wasrescued Sunday and is being treated at the Government hospitalhere, police said.

A retired engineer, who was on his morning walk, heard theinfant's cry from the well and asked locals to help.

One of them got down and brought the gunny bag up, only tofind the child wrapped in it, police said.

The child was immediately rushed to the Governmenthospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, police said.
