Arcot registers 11 cm rain

Vellore and the surrounding areas received good rainfall during the past two days. Thunder showers have been reported across the district on Sunday night. Vellore city also received good amount of rainfall. According to the disaster management and mitigation department here, the district had received around 376 mm of rainfall (with average of 31.38 mm) on Sunday.  The rain gauge station at Arcot had recorded the highest of 119.8 mm (around 11 cm) of rainfall, closely followed by Tirupattur (46), Wallajah (45), Vaniyambadi (36.5), Vellore (30), Alangayam (28.4), Ambur (25), Gudiyattam (18.2) and Melalathur (6.6). Widespread rainfall was also reported on Monday in many parts of the district on Monday evening.
