Army truck rams school bus; 38 hurt

As many as 38 persons, including 27 school children, suffered minor injuries after an Army truck rammed an omni-bus ferrying girl students of a school in Kozhikode, Kerala near Madukarai on Wednesday. The students were returning after a trip to Chennai. 

Around 7.30 am, the bus was crossing the Bodipalayam Junction on the L&T Bypass Road towards Kerala, when the mishap occurred.The newly-assembled Tatra truck, which was to be handed over to the Army, was heading to Bangalore from the BEML’s unit at Kanchikode, Kerala. Police said a lorry moving ahead of the Tatra truck suddenly slowed down, forcing the truck driver to swerve to the right to avoid hitting the lorry. The Madukkarai police booked the Tatra truck driver Sajith and seized the Tatra truck for investigation.
