Four killed, six seriously injured in two mishaps

Four persons died on the spot andsix were seriously injured in two separate mishaps in thedistrict early this morning, police said.

In the first accident,two persons were killed on the spotwhen the car they were travelling in hit a median and collidedwith an oncoming car near Maduranchavadi, about 15 km fromhere, police said.

They said six persons from Coimbatore were on their wayto Krishnagiri to buy items for coming Deepavali festival whenthe mishap occurred.

The driver lost control of the vehicle after it hit themedian, following which the car flipped over to the other sideand was hit by oncoming traffic, they said

None in the other car was injured, they said.

In another mishap, two persons were killed on the spot andthree seriously injured when the jeep they were travelling incapsized near Kangeri, about 45 km from here, police said.

The injured have been hospitalised.
