A five-day-old male baby, who was abandoned near Samayapuram Mariyamman temple, was rescued by ‘108’ ambulance service and hospitalised at Annal Gandhi Memorial GH here on Sunday.
According to a ambulance service official, they had received a call around 7.30 am from the public and they rushed to the spot and rescued the baby. The baby was infected by ‘myelo meningocoele and bilateral talipes equina varuas’ (a kind of congenital disease), said medical officials and added that child specialists would come to examine the baby within a couple of days.
