The Katpadi railway police conducted an awareness campaign on ‘safe travel’, at the Katpadi railway station on Sunday morning.

Inspector Ravi and his team distributed pamphlets about the dos and don’ts, to be followed by passengers. They distributed pamphlets to passengers of trains that arrived at the junction between 8 am and 10 am, including Kovai Express, Trivandrum Express,  Hubli Express, Kakinada Express and local trains operating between Jolarpet and Arakkonam.

Police also advised passengers not to accept food items given by strangers while travelling. They also advised passengers to be cautious while using level crossings and while seated near windows in trains.

The Katpadi Railway Protection Force team led by inspector Duraisamy also joined the campaign. The passengers were also instructed not to open abandoned luggage, and to inform railway officials about such luggage, if found.
