Tiruchy East MLA is the New Chief Whip

Assembly Secretary AMP Jamaludeen on Thursday announced that R Manoharan, MLA representing the Tiruchy East constituency, had been appointed the new Chief Government Whip.

Before taking over as the School Education Minister, Vaigai Chelvan, hitherto the Chief Government Whip, resigned from the post.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on February 27 announced that R Manoharan, who is  functioning as the secretary of the Tiruchy urban district unit of the party, would look after the Tiruchy rural district till the appointment of a new secretary for the district.

Meanwhile, the State government appointed STK Jakkaiyan, former MP, as the Special Representative for the Tamil Nadu government at New Delhi.
