A 17-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly abused and thrown out of a TNSTC bus by the conductor here on Wednesday. The conductor allegedly pushed out the Plus Two student of the A V B Matriculation HSS here since she reportedly did not have a valid bus pass for the particular bus route.
The conductor of bus no. 102, A Parameswaran, verbally abused her after he found that her bus pass was not valid, K Namitha, daughter of Krishnaraj from Raju Naidu Layout, Rathinapuri in Gandhipuram, said in her complaint to the police.
The student had boarded the bus to her house at Gandhipuram. The bus pass she was carrying entitled her to travel for free between Thekkupalayam and G N Mills on Mettuppalayam Road.
At the Kalyan Sarees bus stop at Gandhipuram, when the conductor found that that her bus pass only valid till the previous stop, he allegedly abused her verbally and snatched her pass.
When the student tried to reason that she had moved to a new house only recently and paid the fare, the conductor refused to accept the cash and asked her to collect the pass from TNSTC office. He then allegedly caught hold of her hand and threw her out of the vehicle and as a result, she sustained bruises in her elbows and knees. She underwent a medical check-up at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.However, the conductor denied all the allegations.
