Teacher held for faking certificates

Express News Service

A teacher who got employment in a government school twenty-six years ago by submitting fake certificates was arrested by police in Dharmapuri on Saturday.

According to a police source, Chandrasekar (46), a resident of Chillarhalli near Kadathoor in Dharmapuri district joined as a middle school teacher on September 14, 1987.

However, officials of the educational department detected that Chandrasekar was given the job based on a fake certificate that he had submitted at the time of joining the school.

Chandrasekar’s fraud came to light when education department officials were scrutinising the records and found anomalies in the teacher’s certificates.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the education department against the erring teacher, the Dharmapuri police arrested Chandrasekar immediately.
