VELLORE: The district administration has withdrawn the fort moat from the list of water bodies, that were approved for immersion of Vinayaka idols during the forthcoming Vinayaka Chathurthi festival.
A release here said that taking into consideration the fact that the Vellore Fort was a historical monument protected by the Archeological Survey of India, the moat has been withdrawn from the list of water bodies.
Instead the nearby Saduperi tank could be used for immersion of idols.
