The Pernambut Consumer Welfare and Protection Society has appealed to the AIADMK candidate P Senguttuvan, who would be contesting from Vellore Parliamentary constituency in the elections, to appeal to the Ministers and party senior leaders to address the woes of the people of Pernambut town. In a letter to the candidate, the president of the Society T Basheeruddin said CM Jayalalithaa should come up with a scheme to ease the water scarcity problem that has been a burden on the residents of Pernambut and nearby villages for two years. The drinking water supplied once in 15 days had a dissolved salt content of 2000 ppm, deeming it unfit for drinking, he said.
