The tranquility of Kaloorani village was affected for a while when a woman applied Vitamin A drops on the eyes of 15 children who are below five years old, near here on Tuesday. The source said, the government made an arrangement to administer vitamin A drops for the children to save them from eye-related diseases.
However, the district health department did not monitor the welfare programme and the respective department officials did not visit health centres properly. A village health nurse and anganwadi helpers are being used to administer the drops to the inmates of the anganwadis and school kids.
