A 57-year-old man was arrested for possessing a country-made gun without licence in Mandharakuttai village in Kavalur police station limit on Tuesday.
According to police department sources, A Murugan of Mandharakuttai village in Jawadhu Hills was arrested for possessing a single-barrel muzzle loading gun without proper documents. Police seized the gun and registered a case against him under section 25 (1) (A) of the Indian Arms Act.
He was remanded under judicial custody and sent to the Vellore Central Prison.
