The centenary of Mother’s first arrival in Puducherry was observed in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram as well as at the Puducherry railway station.
Mother whose name is Mirra Alfassa was the spiritual collaborator of Sri Aurobindo. She had arrived here by train after a voyage of 21 days by ship from Paris on March 29, 1914.
In commemoration of her first arrival here, the Department of Posts has released a special cancellation. Post master (Chennai city region) Mervin Alexander released the cancellation at Sri Aurobindo post office.
