VELLORE: The responsibility of parents does not end with sending their children to school. They should also monitor their child’s faring in school, said Sri Sakthi Amma, pontiff of the Sri Narayani Peedam. He said this at the inaugural function of a new building facility at a private school in Kalavai on Monday. He said, education should also inculcate discipline and this was possible only through spirituality.
VIT chancellor G Viswanathan stressed on the need for government to focus on elementary education. While the number of government schools were getting reduced, the private ones were increasing, he said. On the occasion, director of Chandrayan Dr Mayilsamy said, today, children were blessed with support of technology and were emerging as smart children. He said, lot of work was being done by the Indian Space Research Organisation( ISRO) after the launch of Chandrayan 2.
