Sale of Applications Begins in Arts College

COIMBATORE: The Government Arts College in Coimbatore has started issuing applications for undergraduate (UG) courses from Wednesday.

An autonomous institution, affiliated to Bharathiar University, the college offers 21 UG courses.

A total of 1319 seats are available for the next academic year. Application counters will be open from 10 am to 4 pm. Students from the general category has pay `25 as application fee and `2 as registration fee. Students from Scheduled Caste and Tribe can get the applications for free. It has been made mandatory for SC/ST students to submit a copy of their community certificate and show their original certificate for proof while getting the application forms.

Once the Plus Two Board exam results are released, students can avail online provisional mark sheets and submit the  filled-in application forms at the same counter.

An official from the college management said that applications will be received till June first week and eligible candidates will be called for counselling based on the rank list.

Rank lists will be available in the college website and notice board and dates will be announced shortly.

Counselling for special category will be conducted ahead of the general counselling session.

Last year, more than 10,000 forms were sold and 5,000 students submitted the applications.
