Student Protesters Granted Bail in TN

COIMBATORE: Six youth, belonging to the Students Uprising Movement for Social Welfare, who were arrested by the city police after they staged a protest in front of a TASMAC shop in Pappanaickenpalayam, Sriram Nagar, were granted bail by the Judicial Magistrate III, M Nambirajan on Monday.  The protestors, led by district secretary Tamilini, protested in front of the liquor outlets on August 4 and 5, demanding total prohibition in the State. They were arrested after they resisted arrest and put up a fight against the police, who were attempting to clear the illegal assembly. Their bail petitions came up for hearing on Monday, and were granted by the judge.
