Sri Lankan Man Gets Back Wife from Lover in Villupuram

Express News Service

VILLUPURAM:Based on a court order, police rescued a Sri Lankan woman from her illicit lover at Thiyagadurugam near here and sent her with her husband who came searching for her all the way from Bahrain.

According to police sources, Vengatesan (32) of V Palyam near Thygadurugam was employed in Bahrain for the past few years. He became friendly with a colleague Raja Pilendiran (40) of Sri Lanka and the latter introduced Vengatesan to his wife Thavaraja Renuka.

It is said that the three of them used to visit many places in Bahrain and in due course, Vengatesan fell in love with Renuka, who accepted his proposal and the two were involved in an extra marital affair.

After coming to know about their relationship Pilendiran warned them but they reportedly ignored him and continued with the relationship.

Meanwhile, Vengatesan contract ended and he returned to India two weeks ago.

A few days after his departure, Renuka informed her husband that she wanted to visit her mother staying in Sri Lanka and left Bahrain. Since she did not contact Pilendiran after that, he tried calling Renuka  several times but she kept disconnecting his call. Suspecting that Renuka might be in India, Pilendiran traced her mobile number with the help of some friends in Bahrain and found that she was in Thiyagadurugam. Immediately, he came down to Tamil Nadu and filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking to rescue his wife from Vengatesan. The court on Friday issued an order to Thiygadurugam police to rescue and produce her at the Kallakuruchi court.

Accordingly, police visited Vengatesan’s house and confirmed Renuka’s presence. But she refused to come with them.

With the help of Kallkuruchi all women police personnel, Renuka was taken to the Thiygadurugam police station where officers counselled her.

Following this, Renuka agreed to go with her husband. She was produced before the Kallakuruchi court on Friday evening and sent with Pilendiran.

According to police sources, no case was registered against Vengatesan as Renuka had come to his house on her own.

The incident raised a few eyebrows in V Palayam as the villagers initially thought that Renuka was Vengatesan’s lady love, and were shocked after coming to know that she was in fact the wife of Pilendiran.
