Alumnus of Government Institute of Tech Moot More UG Courses

VELLORE: Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology (TPGIT) silver jubilee celebration and alumni reunion held in the college premises here on Sunday.

Alumni’s urged the principal to request the government to start new courses. Since 1990, the college is running with three undergraduate courses like ECE, Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

Alumni’s had come in big numbers to celebrate the alumni reunion and silver jubilee functions. Alumni’s of 1989 - 93 batch gave aid to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakh as contribution to the placement training. To prepare for the placement training to the students who are in final semester.

R Parthiban, a 1991 batch student while addressing the alumnus said, “I don’t know why the government is running with three undergraduate courses. The colleges which were started a year back have 5 to 6 courses.” He urged the principal M Arul Arularasu to take necessary actions.

 Principal announced that the college got the permanent affiliation status from Anna University and have also applied for Autonomous status to Anna University
