VELLORE: The Judicial Magistrate Court, Ambur, on Monday extended the judicial custody of 36 persons, who were arrested and remanded in the Vellore Central Prison for Men in connection with the last month violence in Ambur Town, till July 20.
The 36 were part of the 95 people arrested for violence against the police personnel on June 27. The district police produced a letter to the magistrate of JM Court stating that the department has not produced them before the court for security reasons. The magistrate issued the order extending the judicial custody of the 36 for the next seven days.
