Jallikattu Lovers Threaten Boycott

TIRUCHY: The members of Tamilaga Veera Vilayattu Meetpu Kazhagam, which has been fighting for the revival of jallikattu, submitted a petition to the District Election Officer and Collector on Friday, saying that they have decided to surrender their EPICs if the ban on the sport was not lifted. They also threatened to boycott the elections. The members, led by coordinator T Rajesh, said that jallikattu, manjuvirattu and rooster fight were usually held during festivals and were part of the Tamil culture.
