CHENNAI: Students of the Indian Institute of Technology, Design and Manufacturing ( IITDM), Kancheepuram on the Independence Day demonstrated their newly developed smart outdoor mobile robotic trash can that students can take to school for voluntary cleanup efforts.
The robot can be controlled by children with video game controller or smart phone, and can autonomously follow a student navigator. The robot also carries air quality monitoring sensors so the robot informs the public about the air pollution levels. Students said that additional pollution sensors are likely to be added in the future.
