CHENNAI: AIADMK MPs, led by its parliamentary party leader and Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha, M Thambidurai, on Tuesday called on Sasikala at her Poes Garden residence and expressed solidarity with her.
The parliamentarians included SR Balasubramonian, V Maitreyan and R Vaithilingam. Meanwhile, office-bearers of AIADMK’s youth wing and Thanjavur north district, including Agriculture Minister R Doraikkanu, and unorganised drivers supporting the party also called on Sasikala and expressed solidarity with her.
Already, the new Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, his cabinet colleagues and many district secretaries of AIADMK had appealed to Sasikala to be the party’s general secretary.
