KUMBAKONAM: The public health officials have been monitoring the quality of the water in the tank. They have been measuring the chlorine level using Chloroscope. If the chlorine level goes below 2 ppm in the water, additional chlorination is being done. S Asokan, Chief Engineer of Water Resources Organisation (WRO) of Public Works Department said water from Arasalaru would be released at the rate of 400 litres per second continuously. "The water from the tank is also being pumped out from the outlet which would eventually let into Cauvery river through a canal", he added.
