CM Jayalalithaa Drops Chinnayya from Cabinet

CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday dropped Animal Husbandry Minister TKM Chinnayya from the State Cabinet and from the party post. She relieved Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar as party’s Pudukottai district. She also dropped a few key office-bearers of the party and appointed new ones.  

A Raj Bhavan communication here said Social Welfare Minister B Valarmathi would be looking after the portfolios hitherto held by Chinnayya. Meanwhile, another statement from the AIADMK headquarters here said Chinnayya has also been relieved as party’s Kancheepuram east district. Chitlapakkam C Rajendran, former MP, will be replacing Chinnayya in the party post.

Along with Chinnayya, the AIADMK general secretary also relieved M Karikalan, secretary, Tambaram town unit. N Koothan, Tambaram Anna Tholil Sangam secretary, will be new secretary of the Tambaram town unit. Thandarai K Manoharan, MLA and Kancheepuram Central district secretary has been relieved and until a new office-bearer is appointed, Chitlapakkam Rajendran will be in charge of this district too.
