VCK Presents Rs 1L to Slain Dalit’s Widow

COIMBATORE: The VCK presented a cheque of `1 lakh to Kausalya, widow of Shankar, the Dalit vicitm of the Udumalaipettai honour killing, here on Wednesday.

VCK State deputy general secreatary Vanni Arasu  visited Kausalya at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. After meeting Kausalya, Vanni Arasu expressed happiness that she was getting better. he said that Kausalya was very interested in continuing her education. The VCK would also take the responsibility of educating her. Vanni Arasu said Kausalya wanted to live with Shankar’s family once her treatment is completed.  “Shankar’s family also has been receiving threats. So the government must take action to protect the family ” he said.
