CHENNAI: TNCC president S Thirunavukkarasar will hit the campaign trail next week to canvass for the DMK candidates in the three Assembly segments that go to polls on November 19.

He would spend a day in each of the three constituencies.

"I will tour Thanjavur on November 12 to campaign for the DMK candidate. Similarly, on November 15 will canvass in Tiruparankundram and in Aravakurichi the following day," he said.

In Thanjavur, Dr Anjugam Bhoopathy, daughter of a party veteran, is seeking the mandate while Dr P Saravanan and KC Palanisamy have entered the fray in Tiruparankundram and Aravakurichi. The poll in Thanjavur and Aravakurichi was postponed in May, when the Assembly elections were held, following complaints of large scale distribution of cash for voters.

The TNCC chief informed that he would hit Nellithope in Puducherry on November 11 to campaign for Congress Chief Minister V  Narayanasamy.

He hailed the decision of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) to extend support to Narayanasamy in Nellithope.

However, when asked whether he would appeal to the VCK to extend support to the DMK candidates in the three segments in Tamil Nadu too, Thirunavukkarasar said, "Such a decision has to be taken by VCK itself."
