CHENNAI: Top leaders of the Tamil Nadu Congress attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating trouble to the common man in the name of abolishing black money. A demonstration was staged in front of the Collectorate. TNCC president S Thirunavukkarasar led the stir. Addressing the protesters, Thirunavukkarasar blamed the Prime Minister for acting without respecting the guidelines on demonetization of currencies.

“The currency ban has been announced by the Prime Minister without getting the concurrence of either the Cabinet or the RBI. The PM does not have the powers to do so,” he said. Former TNCC head EVKS Elangovan attacked Modi for staging a drama by sending his elderly mother to a bank for exchanging notes.
