CHENNAI: Sri Sairam Engineering college on the outskirts topped the rank list of Anna University for the third consecutive year by securing 236 university ranks with as many as five gold medals for the academic year 2015-16.
Out of 236 university rankholders, 172 were undergraduates and 64 postgraduates. The R M K Engineering College got the second place with 137 university ranks. Sairam Engineering College has bettered its performance of the previous two years.
A release from the college, said “Sri Sairam Engineering College secured 159 university Ranks in 2014 and 170 university Ranks in 2015, consecutively placed first amongst private engineering colleges in the state for the past three years in succession.”
The release also claimed that the college has been consistently ranked among the top 10 engineering colleges of the state and the only institution to retain that ever since the rankings were announced.
Another institution of the Sairam group, Sri Sairam Institute of Technology, also figured in the list of top 15 engineering colleges, securing 12th position with 53 university ranks and five gold medals.
