The next day, she announced Rs 476 crore bonus for the 3.67 lakh employees of the State Public Sector Undertakings. On September 29, the Apollo hospital issued another bulletin saying that she was responding well to the treatment.

The bulletin also said the doctors had advised her to stay at the hospital for a few more days during recuperation period and that necessary evaluation tests were being carried out.

Ever since Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital, the AIADMK cadre across the State have been offering special prayers in places of worship of all religions.
