NEW DELHI: Feeling disappointed by the unrelenting vigour of the Tamil farmers protesting at Jantar Mantar for the last 30 days, BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan on Wednesday said that they should listen to the central government and believe him that the demands will be fulfilled.

“Police did not allow us out of our protest site at Jantar Mantar.  We were blocked by the police with barricades, so it was not possible for us to meet the minister. He should have informed us by calling anyone beforehand” said P. Ayyakannu

On Tuesday, when a group of farmers visited minister Pon Radhakrishnan to seek help regarding their demands, to help the farmers Radhakrishan asked them to meet them on 12th April with a new detailed memorandum of their demand details. He waited for the farmers till Wednesday evening.

“The person who is working hard and doing all the things to get a final solution and relief for these innocent farmers who are protesting at the Jantar Mantar since the last 30 days. Can he be dishonoured, insulted?” asked the Union Minister to the protesting farmers association.

More than two dozen farmers from Tamil Nadu are still protesting at Jantar Mantar to fulfil their demands: waiver of the loan to the farmers, relief package of Rs 40,000 crore to the whole state of Tamil Nadu and release Cauvery water to the region of TN.
