PUDUKKOTTAI: A farmer in the district reportedly died of cardiac arrest after seeing the withered crop in his field near Alangudi on Wednesday. Sources said Kuppamuthu (65) of Pasuvayal near Alangudi has been cultivating vegetables in his farm land.
On Wednesday, he went to the field for watering the plants and applying fertilizers. On seeing the withered crops, he collapsed. After a while, fellow villagers found him unconscious.
