CHENNAI: Amid allegations of certain top prison officials favouring AIADMK interim general secretary VK Sasikala at the Parappana Agrahara Prison in Bengaluru, TTV Dhinakaran faction has threatened to sue DIG D Roopa, who was recently shifted from the Karnataka prison department, if she fails to take back her allegations.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, P Vetrivel, AIADMK district secretary and MLA, wanted the police official to withdraw her allegations against Sasikala.
“Sasikala was not given any facilities in the prison. She was not in a mood to ask for any such facilities either.

“DIG Roopa should take back her allegations,” he stressed adding that if she failed do so, he would explore all possible legal recourse.

The Perambur MLA said Roopa had no evidence to substantiate her allegations. “If she has any evidence, let her prove it in the court,” he challenged.

Referring to the issue of Dhinakaran returning recently without meeting Sasikala in prison, he alleged it was a “deliberate action” by the authorities concerned to delay and deny him permission.
