Tamil Nadu Federation of Govt Staff Unions places 10-point demand before Chief  Minister

CHENNAI: The Federation of Recognised Unions of Tamil Nadu Government Employees on Friday had talks with Chief Minister ‘Edappadi’ K Palaniswami at the Secretariat and placed a 10-point charter of demands before him. 

The demands include 20 per cent interim hike in salaries for government staff before fulfilling the Seventh Pay Commission recommendation, cancellation of profession tax for all State government employees, resumption of the State Administrative Tribunal, filling of all vacancies, including drivers, only through employment exchanges, filling up of vacancies in all the departments at the earliest, providing time scale pay and pension for all those workers who are now getting consolidated pay and daily wages and implementing the medical insurance scheme by the State government. 

R Shanmugarajan, president, Tamil Nadu Government Officials Union, told reporters that Chief Minister ‘Edappadi’ K Palaniswami had promised to consider all their demands as the panel formed for implementing the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations would be submitting its report by
September this year.
