MADURAI: It’s time for Aavin to go places. At an event held in Singapore on Saturday, Minister for Milk and Dairy Development K T Rajenthra Bhalaji launched the sale of Aavin milk there.
According to a statement, the minister said that Aavin was leading in milk procurement and sales in the State. He said several products were being manufactured by Aavin and that the products were a challenge to its competitors in the market.
According to Bhalaji, currently 33 lakh litres of milk are being procured by Aavin every day, out of which 22 lakh litres are being sold in the State.
The remaining is converted into milk powder and supplied across the country, the minister said.
Stating that the people in the other states prefer Aavin milk because of its quality, he said nearly one lakh litre of Aavin milk was being sold in Kerala every day.
Based on the direction of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to commence the sale of Aavin milk in
South Asian countries, the product has been launched in Singapore now, the minister said.
He further stated that after Singapore, steps are being taken to begin sales at Malaysia, Dubai and Sri Lanka.
Principal Secretary to the Government for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries K Gopal, and Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Limited (Aavin) Managing Director C Kamaraj were present during the event.
