PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Saturday said the government was holding talks with law experts to file a defamation case against Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi as she was keen on making baseless allegations against the government. The CM alleged that the L-G was indirectly interfering with the ongoing CBI inquiry into the medical admission scam, through her social media posts.

Speaking to mediapersons, Narayanasamy conceded that CENTAC’s counselling for admission to postgraduate medical courses was a burning issue. He had heard about CBI raids at the residences of CENTAC and Puducherry government officials. Since he had previously handled the CBI as a minister, he can’t comment on the actions of the agency, he added.

The CM further noted that the L-G, in her comments, kept demanding that government officials, the Chief Secretary, ministers and the Chief Minister take responsibility for the admission scandal and pointed out that it was the L-G herself who had signed all the related files. “If they are responsible for the scam, she is also part of it,” added Narayanasamy.

Stating that he had already spoken about the issue in detail during an Assembly session, he went on to say that for the first time, the Congress-DMK government managed to get 50 per cent seats under government quota, while the previous AINRC government couldn’t even secure a single seat.
