Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be part of Jayalalithaa's birth anniversary function  

According to a tentative schedule, Modi will launch the Amma Scooty Scheme under which 50 per cent subsidy on the cost of a scooty would be given by the State government to working women.

CHENNAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the 70th birth anniversary celebrations of late Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa, scheduled for February 24 at Kalaivanar Arangam.According to a tentative schedule, the prime will launch the Amma Scooty Scheme under which 50 per cent subsidy on the cost of a scooty would be given by the State government to working women to buy their own vehicle. He will also plant a sapling on the occasion.

Sources said Modi’s flight is scheduled to arriving in Chennai at 5.25 pm. After taking part in the birth anniversary celebrations, he would attend a private function. On February 25, he will go to Puducherry to participate in an event in Auroville.
