MMK flays Centre’s move on ration cards

CHENNAI: The Manithaneya Makkal  Katchi president, M H Jawahirullah, condemned the Centre’s decision to cancel ration cards of those who have not purchased commodities from fair shops for three consecutive months.In a statement, Jawahirullah said this would affect the weaker sections of the society. 
There might be many reasons for not purchasing rations from these shops. Also people use cards not only for buying rations but also as documents of proof. So, the Centre should immediately revoke its decision, he added. Union Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has asked the states to cancel the ration cards of those who have not purchased rations from fair shops for three consecutive months.
