CHENNAI: The Justice A Arumughasamy commission which is inquiring into the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has reportedly sought banks to furnish details of accounts maintained by Jayalalithaa.
Advocate N Raja Senthoor Pandian, who represents V K Sasikala, told reporters on Tuesday that the probe panel had marked the personal bank account details of Jayalalithaa as an evidence to be submitted before the commission. “We have registered our opposition to this move,” he added.
Besides, Indian Overseas Bank former Manager Mahalakshmi, doctors Jayasree Gopalan and Shantha Ram were cross-examined by Sasikala’s counsel before the commission. During cross-examination, a doctor is said to have deposed that the pictures which were recently reported in a section of media were taken at Apollo hospital. The doctors also explained the diet recommended to Jayalalithaa after she developed diabetes.
“When doctors suggested that excess weight could be reduced through surgery, she allegedly rejected the idea and decided to go ahead with dieting,” said Pandiyan as told by the doctors during cross examination.
