Rename New Delhi-Hyderabad AP Express After Telangana: KCR

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today favoured renaming the New Delhi- Hyderabad Andhra Pradesh Express train after the new state.

Renaming the train as Telangana Express will reflect the new reality with regards to the division of Andhra Pradesh, he said.

Observing that the train got its present name when undivided Andhra Pradesh existed with Hyderabad as its capital, he felt that continuing with the same after formation of Telangana is not proper.

He also sought renaming the Telangana Express, which runs between Hyderabad and Sirpur Kagaznagar (in Adilabad district) as Komaram Bheem Express, a release from his office said here today.

Rao would write a letter to the Centre seeking the two changes, the release added.
