ADILABAD: Owing to the wild animals, including boars, leopards and even tigers, straying into human settlements, man-animal conflicts have increased by huge numbers in the district over the past few days. Officials say that a major reason behind the animals entering the villages is rapid deforestation. This is now-a-days being aided by shortage of drinking water. Of late, big cats have also been reportedly spotted in human habitations and in some cases, have attacked villagers. Two people were injured in Khanapur and Nirmal mandals by a tiger and a bullock fell prey to a tiger at  Rampur village in Kaddem mandal. A leopard has also reportedly killed two cows in Bazarathnoor mandal recently. In the last week of November, a tiger had attacked a farmer Poshetty in Mamada mandal. Speaking to Express, a forest official on condition of anonymity, said they have been so far unable to find out the tiger’s den. Speaking to Express,  Nirmal DFO K Ramkishan said they are taking up steps to avoid man-animal conflicts.
