HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Telangana moved the High Court on Wednesday seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Telugu Desam MLA Revanth Reddy, prime accused in the cash-for-vote case.
The ACB, in its affidavit, submitted that the court which had granted bail to the accused by imposing conditions that he shall confine to his constituency of Kodangal in Mahbubnagar district, relaxed the condition recently and allowed him to visit Hyderabad.
It also submitted that while relaxing the bail conditions, the court made it clear that he shall not interfere with the investigation and not to make any remarks in connection with the case pending against him. But the accused attended a meeting of TDP workers in LB Nagar in the city on September 9.
“I was sent to jail in a conspiracy and was confined to my Kodangal Assembly constituency. Today I came to Hyderabad and my friends are saying that now the game has begun, but it is not a game. The hunt has begun”, the ACB quoted him as saying at that meeting.
The ACB termed it an objectionable statement made in utter violation of the condition imposed by the court. While maintaining that that kind of attitude of the accused would certainly deter the witnesses in the case, the ACB urged the court to cancel the bail granted to Revanth Reddy. The matter may come up for hearing on Friday.
