HYDERABAD:  Rajya Sabha MP and senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao, who on Monday was appointed as chairman of the party’s campaign committee, asked the student unions to campaign against the ruling parties at Centre and state.

The TPCC on Monday announced Hanumantha Rao as chairman of the committee, which will have several former MPs, Union ministers, state ministers and others as its members. The party also announced former minister Mukesh Goud’s son Vikram Goud as its mayoral candidate.

Meanwhile, Hanumantha Rao, speaking at a press conference on Rohith’s suicide, said UoH has been turned into an ‘adda’ of RSS and ABVP.

Hanumantha Rao said that CM KCR and his ministers did not even react to Rohith’s suicide. ‘’Students should come out openly against the anti-Dalit parties like BJP and TRS and campaign against them in the GHMC elections,’’ he said.

TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy said party state in-charge Digvijaya Singh will campaign for the party on Jan 29 and AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad will campaign in the city on Jan 30.
