KARIMNAGAR: A day after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s visit to the district to review the flood situation, opposition parties on Tuesday ridiculed Rao’s claim that the Mid Manair bund had breached due to delay and negligence of project contractors.

Former MP and TPCC vice-president Ponnam Prabhakar challenged Rao to release a white paper on the Mid Manair dam tenders.

All irrigation projects, including Mid Manair, were constructed during Congress rule. After the TRS came to power, the work was given to a new contractor, he told mediapersons here. No TRS leader had the guts to bring the issues to the notice of the CM, he said.

The Congress leader said that Pothgal Pedda Cheruvu in Mustabad mandal had breached. The tank was renovated under Mission Kakatiya. “This belies the claim made by the CM that no tank  renovated under Mission Kakatiya has breached,” Prabhakar said.

Meanwhile, TTDP working president A Revanth Reddy visited the flood-affected villages under Mid Manair dam. He alleged that the CM had grabbed the contract from Komatireddy brothers and allotted works to a follower of R&B minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao.
