MGM doctors conduct medical examination of Nerella victims

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA : As per the directions of High Court, a team of doctors from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Warangal visited the private hospital in Vemulawada where the Nerella victims are undergoing treatment and conducted medical check up on them on Thursday.

Dr Krupal Singh and Dr Chandrashekar conducted the medical checkup for about one and half hour. BJP state official spokesperson Bandi Sanjay Kumar requested the doctors to include the Karimnagar and Vemulawada hospital reports in their report. The MGM doctors team said that they would submit their report to the High Court in a sealed cover.

Out of the eight victims, six are in the hospital and the remaining two, Cheekoti Srinivas and Korukanti Ganesh, are at home. They are attending police station every Sunday and Wednesday as part of conditions imposed on granting bail.Meanwhile, former MP and senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao consoled victims. Later speaking to media, he warned the government that if Nerella issue was not settled by August 30, he would go on a fast-unto-death for justice.He demanded that a case is registered against lorry drivers and owners who were involved in accidents resulting in the death of five people so far. He also demanded ex-Gratia of `25 lakh for Nerella victims and free education for their children up to class 10 and employment for youth.

Hanumantha Rao said they will invite AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi to Nerella and other two villages to console victims and their families.Meanwhile, it is learnt that the state leadership of BSP is making efforts to invite their party president and former Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati to visit Nerella and console victims family members.
