HYDERABAD: Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) supremo Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday responded to the scuffle that broke out between members of BJP and BSP over a BSP corporator from Uttar Pradesh taking oath in Urdu. Airing his view on social media, Owaisi said, “India cannot be governed on the basis of Hindi, Hindu  and Hindusthan.”

He was responding to a news article about the scuffle that took place at the corporator swearing-in ceremony of the Aligarh Municipal Corporation, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.  “As a MP, I have taken oath in Urdu three times so is that unconstitutional? I will take oath again in Urdu in 2019 if God wills,” said Qwaisi in the same tweet.
