Senior IAS officer Shekhar Prasad Singh, known as SP Singh, took charge as the new chief secretary of the State government on Sunday.

HYDERABAD: Senior IAS officer Shekhar Prasad Singh, known as SP Singh, took charge as the new chief secretary of the State government on Sunday. He succeeded K Pradeep Chandra, who retired from service on Saturday.

Though several names of other senior IAS officers including MG Gopal cropped up earlier for the post, SP Singh was chosen as he has one more year to retire.

In another appointment A K Khan, who retired as director general of ACB, has been made advisor to the state government on matters relating to minority welfare. Government posted another IAS officer, Aravind Kumar, as the Resident Commissioner of Telangana Bhavan in Delhi.
