KARIMNAGAR: IN a horrifying incident, a 57-year-old man, and two youngsters, sexually assaulted an intellectually disabled minor girl in Karimangar district. They filmed the assault and forced her to dance.

They posted the video of the sexual assault on social networking sites, where it caught attention of police. Local police registered a case and started investigating. They found the incident had occurred on December 31 but had come to light only Saturday after the video went viral.

The police found the incident had taken place in Ramadugu mandal in the district. Police commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy revealed that the three accused —Thadagonda Rajaiah (57), Thadagonda Laxman (19) and Thadagonda Rakesh (18) — hail from Tirumalapur village in Ramadugu. Sources said Rajaiah and Laxman had been arrested but Rakesh was at large.

According to police, on New Year’s eve, the trio noticed the 16-year-old alone at home. They took her to a maize field and sexually assaulted her and forced her to dance, filming the entire incident. The girl’s mother, a daily wage labourer, did not approach police as she feared it would bring a bad name to the family. “Rape case and case under IT Act have been registered. We are investigating,” police said.

This is the second gangrape in the district in recent times. A few months ago, an engineering student was gangraped, the assault filmed, at Challur village in Veenavanka mandal.
