Case against those who ransacked UoH VC's Appa Rao house still pending

After six days in Cherlapally central prison, all the arrested were granted bail and were released on March 30.

HYDERABAD: The cases booked against 26 students and two professors, for ransacking the office of UoH vice-chancellor P Appa Rao on March 23 are still under investigation, said the police.

Students in huge numbers ransacked the VC’s house in the university campus. They had smashed doors and windowpanes, computers and electronic equipment, TV sets, furniture, flowerpots and photo frames.

After six days in Cherlapally central prison, all the arrested were granted bail and were released on March 30. When asked about the status, the Cyberabad police said that the cases are still under investigation as some of the accused were still absconding. However, the police also did not file a chargesheet in the case yet.
