File counter affidavit, HC tells Telangana State government

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday directed Telangana government to file counter affidavit on a petition seeking directions to the authorities concerned to take steps for amending GO 428 issued by the education department on Sept 23, 1985 and consequently to amend service rules of Human Resource Utilization department to enable the candidates who qualified in vocational courses to compete for government jobs.

Justice C Praveen Kumar passed this direction in a writ petition filed by E Bhavani from Mahabubnagar challenging inaction of authorities in amending GO 428. The petitioner’s counsel told the court that the state government in the year 1985 provided employment opportunity in government jobs to the candidates who have completed the vocational courses in Intermediate.

In spite of submission of a report by the committee constituted by the government in 2015, the authorities concerned have failed to amend the service rules of the human resource utilization department, the counsel pointed.The judge issued a notice to the authorities concerned for filing counter affidavit on the issue and adjourned the case by two weeks.
